Welcome!!

Todd and I could not be more excited to welcome our two babies into this world this spring/early summer. Our official due date is June 14, but have a feeling we'll see these little turkeys in May. It has already been a long story, but we welcome you to follow along for the last few months of this overwhelming experience! Thanks for joining! :):)

You know that feeling...

You know that feeling when you leave the house, but you just feel like you forgot something? Today I left the house, and had that feeling. In my head I walked through my morning which included my shot of medicine this morning, brushing teeth, make up, breakfast, vitamins and departure. Nothing seemed out of place, so I carried on with my day.

I returned home after work, and there beautifully lined up on the counter with a large glass of water was every medication I was supposed to take this morning. How is that for pregnancy brain! I actually got all 6 out of their bottles, filled a nice glass of water, and then just walked away!

All is well, at least they were ready for me when I got home. From now on I won't trust my own recounts of my morning!

Avocados and Pin Cushions

So the girls are Avocados this week, my 16th week of pregnancy! An appointment confirmed that my cervix is holding up well, I won't use the exact words to explain it, but you get the point.

I must say that my belly seems to be growing quicker than those nice little drawings on babycenter.com. I am wearing a dress today that makes me look like I could be due in a month. I will post pictures eventually, once I feel more comfortable with this weight gain.

Tomorrow I start injections again, the human pin cushion saga continues. I will start intramuscular progesterone injections, which I will receive weekly until the girls arrive. It sounds like a lot, but with IVF I was taking one IM injection DAILY for weeks. So this actually doesn't seem that bad. I guess it is all relative :).

So that is the latest from Smyrna! I hope you are all enjoying this lovely winter week with light work loads and plenty of time with friends and family!

Merry day after Christmas!! We had such a nice Christmas yesterday, of course we also missed our family and friends across the country. The morning was quiet outside of my cooking noise and video calls with the NJ Wilsons and the Partlows. It seems their Christmases had a bit more volume than ours ;).

We headed with friends Paula and Heather to Suwanee to have dinner with Georgette and her family, who welcomed us with open arms. Georgette even prepared Cosmo-nots for her daughter Jesse and myself, which were delicious! The food was insane, and company was wonderful.

The girls received their first outfits for Christmas from Georgette! Buddy told me he wanted to be in the picture with the outfits, as he believes that he is their true first gift. What a good boy.

Now we will be getting ready for some good football! I am also posting some pictures of my first white Christmas ever!!

Ka Pow!!

I think I just got two upper cuts to the abdomen, courtesy of sweet baby A. I was yawning and it felt like Todd had elbowed me in the stomach. In fact, he said he couldn't deny that he did it, he couldn't remember (nice memory). So, I assumed that was what it was. And a few minutes later I yawned again and BAM, it happened AGAIN! She's got a serious punch!

WOW!

Todd and I were shocked today to find out we are having 2 little girls!!! CRAZY change in mind set, but we can't wait. Todd is already talking about protecting them from boys in high school. I told him we have a little while before we have to deal with that. In the meantime I keep thinking of all of the cute stuff at Baby Gap!!!

They are both measuring right on, and were very active today. I think it had to do with the Mexican I had for lunch. Baby A was face planted with her butt in the air and knees bent when we first looked at her, it seemed so uncomfortable! So we watched a little while and she jumped and flipped herself over. Amazing this is happening without me feeling it!

Okay....more to come soon! Good night all!

What I should be snacking on.... nuts, fruit, veggies, protein containing items. What I ended up throwing in the front seat after the grocery and snacking on? Reduced Fat Cape Cod Salt and Vinegar chips. oops!

I am going to be asking my doctor on Wednesday if I need to start my 100 gm protein diet. Once that starts, all carbs are out the window! At that point I will inquire for yummy snacks that you may know of that are high and protein.

Ciao!

I just got back from the OB's office, and everything looks great! When I had the surgery, it felt strange to focus on me, I didn't feel like I was giving the babies enough attention. But sure enough, they are growing, moving and shaking in there! The cervix looks great, and I get to go back to work, which is awesome. So we'll be 14 weeks tomorrow with some good looking kids!

Go Team Wilson!

My First Blog

So here I am, 13 weeks pregnant into what has already been a very rocky journey. Todd and I are still amazed that after all of the efforts that have not worked, that we are actually pregnant!

So far... one quick trip to the hospital with pain (last Thurs), where I stayed one night. They sent me home on Friday, when I began a weekend full of finals for my MSN. Those completed on Sunday, and Monday I went in for my cerclage (cervical stitch). Painful, yes, but I am so glad I have it in. It is strange because I have been so busy monitoring myself this week, I haven't given the babies much attention. So I am so glad to have an ultrasound on Monday.

But starting from the surgery my nurse, Todd, has been very strict with my activity. And who am I to not obey him! So I have been on my back/side/other side/back on my back for the last week. I think stretching is the key, or you really get sore! And poor Buddy, he is just moping around since I can't walk him much.

Visits from my dad and Patti, Dani, Sara and Jen have really brightened my week! Dad and Patti kept me very comfortable, and helped so much around the house.

So this is the first 13 weeks in a nutshell. I figured since I will probably end up in bed for a chunk of this pregnancy, that I would start a blog so you can all keep up on the excitement. Thank you all for reading!
